Air conditioning is an ideal way to control the air quality inside any building large or small. Not only does it cool in the summer months, but air conditioning can also heat, replacing traditional heating systems. More and more people today are experiencing the benefits of comfortable working, living and leisure environments made possible with air conditioning. We pride ourselves in providing high performance, competitive systems with low running costs.

Reasons for installing air conditioning.

  • Too hot (obviously), too humid, especially in summer and autumn.
  • High solar gain through windows.
  • Office equipment generating heat.
  • Noisy external environment, preventing windows from being opened.
  • Improvement of staff comfort resulting in increased efficiency.
  • Creating a comfortable environment for customers.

Typical applications for air conditioning/heat pump systems.

  • Individual offices.
  • Open plan offices.
  • Meeting rooms.
  • IT equipment rooms.
  • Showrooms.

The economic impact

Energy costs represent a growing proportion of any business overheads. Managers need to find ways to reduce use and cut energy bills. Our air conditioning solutions can provide heating and cooling, causing minimal environmental impact.

In April 2001, the Government introduced the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) to encourage businesses to invest in energy efficient equipment.

The ECA Scheme enables businesses to claim 100% first year capital allowances on investment in energy saving technologies and products. Businesses are now able to write off the whole cost of their investment against their taxable profits of the period during which they made the investment.

Heating

One of the easiest ways of achieving a significant reduction in CO2 emissions would be through the use greater use of heat pump technology, which extracts free energy from the surrounding air. The energy in the air that that surrounds us is a key sustainable resource that doesn’t always factor into peoples thinking.

With a conventional gas boiler, 1 kilowatt of energy consumed by the boiler delivers less than 1kw of heat to the building, with a typical heat pump, 1 kilowatt of energy delivers a heat output in excess of 3 kilowatts – that’s a 300% increase in energy. Isn’t that worth thinking about?
